The Wonderful Welshie Award
About the Award
We’re asking Welsh Springer Spaniel lovers across the world to tell us the story of an inspirational canine companion. We want to celebrate the courage, spirit and attributes of our special breed. Whether the dog is a working/assistance dog, a support dog, loyal companion, life-saving hero, or helps to protect the environment – we know nothing is too much of a challenge for a Welshie and how fortunate we are to have them in our lives.
From astonishing acts of bravery, keeping communities safe and transforming the lives of people with special needs, our Welshie heroes are ordinary dogs doing extraordinary things.
The Award will be open to Welshies around the world. You don’t have to be a member of the WSSC club to submit or receive a nomination.
Five finalists will be chosen from the nominations. The overall winner and runners-up will be announced in February 2027. The top five nominees will be notified and feature in our 2027 newsletters, yearbook and social media. The overall winner will receive a trophy and feature on our breed club stand and Discover Dogs at Crufts 2027.
